Marble begins with the idea of moving sculpture beyond its traditional form. The works are designed to integrate with the wall and use its surface as part of the composition. Viewpoint, depth and the distance between elements all help define the character of each figure.
Compose
Head, hands, wings or portions of the body can exist as separate elements. Their distance and arrangement create a composition that changes with the wall that hosts it.
Project
Depth is not merely technical: it determines how the work is perceived. A figure moving toward the viewer gains dynamism while retaining a compact, domestic scale.
THE MARBLE LANGUAGE
Between surface and volume.
Marble explores the boundary between relief and sculpture. The Emerging Angel expresses this principle directly: the body leans forward, the hands seem to press against the wall, and the wings expand the composition without making it monumental. At a scale of around 25 cm, the figure maintains a credible relationship with the domestic setting and makes the gesture visible without dominating the space.
